Value wise, can anybody rank the XJ family for us? For example, what's more valuable, a Maxim 750, or a Seca 750 from the same year? Is a 550 cheaper than a 650. does any type command a premium, ie xj700x, Dave's beloved 900s, the midnight Maxims? Basically, who has the best XJ? GO!

Yeah, I was reading that thread, too. I was hoping to get a decent ranking of value, and if not that, then an all out XJforum Brawl For IT All! I'll start. With absolutely no knowledge or research, I'm gonna say that 1982 Seca 750s are the rarest, most awesome and most valuable of them all. Hey, I've got one of those! What a coinki-dink!

No particular order, but ones that come to mind:

    900rk (USA-delivered units)
    750rl
    750-IIE
650rj Seca ( USA- delivered units)
    550 Seca
    The Japanese-market-only bikes
    Police models

    1985/85XJ700/750 and X
Ironically, as i understand it, there were less airheads produced than there were the X's. but now, because people ruining, wrecking, not maintaining, blowing up, etc... From not respecting what they could/couldn't do or handle--- there are more airheads now than there are X's. So, either is a good call

    Just from personal experience...

The 900 seems t be the rarest (at least in my area) or at least no one wants to sell them. I have not seen on in person or seen one for sale locally.
The XJ1100 seem to command a higher price for a good condition one.
The Seca (all sizes) seem to be more popular (I prefer the Maxim)
I have seen the 650 Turbo's for sale but none that were currently running so I was never interested.

I did look to buy a 400 Seca but I'm not sure that it was an XJ I think it was an XS

Right now I'm not willing to sell any of my 900's right now....

Correct-the 400 Seca is an XS, otherwise it would have been on the list
