Rear Axel Bolt Question

    Hi all. So I have purchased off of ebay, a new side-mount licence plate/break light for my 82 xj550 rebuild.

    The stock axel bolt is just to short to hold the new part. Is there any hope in finding a longer, same diameter bolt? I was told a sport bike's axel bolt might give me the required length but I have no idea where to start looking.

    Any help would be appreaciated!

    How much longer does it need to be? I have seen quite a few of those type license holders. All the ones I have seen only need about 1/8" of space to mount on the axle. Maybe removing the stock thick washer and replace it with a thinner one might work. I'm a little leary of that solution though.
