I'm looking to change the bike up a bit and was wondering if anyone has put a rear fender from another bike on a Maxim? I can't say that I have seen too many Maxim's with a rear fender from another bike. I do like the bobber look but I dont think thats the route I want to go at this point.

Parts from other bikes won't usually fit unless you do a lot of cutting, grinding and welding so it's not recommended.

That looks great but you could also do like Jesse James and make your own!

Sweet looking bike! How difficult/expensive was it to change the rake on the forks? I'm eventually looking to do the same on mine. At the moment I'm the ATL... whereabouts in GA are you?

I was just talking to my wife the other day about the cost of what I've done and can honestly say that including the cost of the bike it self I have less than $2000.00 invested in it. Due mainly to doing all the work myself and really digging deep for the best deals.

Funny you should ask...I just got done putting a bobtail fender on my bobber (formerly a Seca) I got one off a Harley from Ebay and it fits perfect. I was a little leary about if it would fit between the frame rail, so I had to do a little research at the Harley dealer to make sure. It fits just like it was made for it. I had to hook up the lights today and fabricate a seat. I will try to get some photos posted tomorrow if I get'r done. >PD<

I would love to see some pics of that...My XJ has a Magna or KZ rear fender not sure which one it is but I want to try something a little different, If I can't make anything else work right I'll just replace the current fender with the same and see if I can't make it look a little cleaner.

I got some photos of my bobber with a Harley bobtail fender on it. I've shortened the shocks in the rear since I posted photos also. I like the look now. I used an LED tailight with little bullet turn signal lights. I will be re-painting the whole bike some day this winter. >PD<

I took mine off. Eff a rear fender. And front. Wait till I get through the winter. It'll be the farthest from a xj you've ever seen.
