Rear shaft

    Was wondering if anybody has ever taken out the rear shaft and removed the 4 thin shims. Was wanting to know if there was a certain order they went back in.

    I think Lalley is referring to his bike which looks like an XJ750.
    I've looked on the parts list and there are various shims of varying thickness Yamaha XJ750 MAXIM 1983 (D) USA DRIVE SHAFT - buy original DRIVE SHAFT spares online scroll through to see them. I can't see it making any difference which order they go in but make sure that they all go back in. I don't mind be told i'm wrong, that's what the forum is all about.
