    I am Looking for a set of rear shocks that measure 11" from eye to eye that will fit o 82 Maxim xj650

    The stock shocks for these bikes were all done by 8K, and sucked to begin with.

    You're better off with a set of brand-new aftermarket shocks; widely available and a huge price range to choose from. You can spend anywhere from $49 to $1500 for a set, depending on what you're after and where you look.

    Anyone had experiance with aftermarket shocks? Know what brand or what styles fit our Xjs? I'm lookin into a new set too, and would love some feedback or some suggestions on new shocks

    harley sportster shocks are close, they're 10.5" if I remember right.

    The aftermarket shocks I just bought are actually LONGER than stock, at around 12 3/4" and If I remember right, I can make them as long as 13 1/2"

    I don't want stock length I want some that are shorter 10.5" or 11" but I have looked for Harley take offs that length and seem to only find them in 12 + So my question is what aftermarket shocks fit the XJ's? Also I have heard that suzuki savage shocks work to but haven't seen many of those around either.

    I bought a pair of suzuki savage shocks for 50 bucks shipped, they are 10 1/2 " eye to eye. go to suzukisavage.com and ask around there, thats where i got mine....
