Yes. That's what the manual says.

The third picture showing the large nut that secures the clutch basket it looks like the nut / basket is not fully seated; the nut should be flush with the end of the shaft. Perhaps you already started disassembly or it's just the photo?

Was loctite used on the pressure plate screws?

And what about the torque wrench? You typically need an inch pound wrench for numbers that low to get into the usable range of the wrench.

Has anyone used thread locker on clutch bolts? Just interested to hear your opinions on this.

I didn’t use loctite but will definitely use on the new ones that are comings. My torque wrench goes down to 5 lbs so I think its ok. Now, regarding the nut not being flush with the end of the shaft.... I didn’t notice that. I adjusted it to 52.7 lbs which is the specification. I will check that when I install the new one. Thank u for the observation.

It's not OK. You want the target torque value to be somewhere in the midrange of the torque wrench's scale, or you won't get an accurate adjustment. This is more critical when the value is at the low end of the tool's range.

Did something else got damaged? I had to take out the oil pan to clean it from all the debris in there.

If someone knows, what it the reccomended measure of the 5 springs that holds the plate? I’ve look at the Haynes manual but I can’t find it.

Thanks a lot to both of you! By tomorrow I should have receive all the parts as well as a new low torque wrench for those bolts on the springs. Hopefully by Saturday in the afternoon she’ll be running again. I really like this bike and don’t want to part ways with her. I want to get her running good.

    Damn, that's wretched luck..
.. while your in there though how about a new clutch cover gasket? That orange gloopy
sealant is no friend to oil-ways in any motor.

Lol. I already got the new gasket for all the side covers. Put the gasket maker on a hurry to get her running. She is running good now but I’m in the process of fine tuning the carbs. The rpm got very high when she gets warm. I adjusted the float levels and performed a bench synch and it change dramatically but still sometimes a bit high around 1,500-1600. New boots are in the way as well as an ultrasonic cleaning and completely new rebuilding kit. This next Saturday will be a busy one.
