    Hi all,

I was searching and searching but couldn't find a thread on all the rear wheel options for a xj750.

I'm interested in 1982 xz550 vision wheels which are 18" all around. They're shaft drive in the rear and dual disc in the front (the '82 only comes with one disc but has a cover on the other side of the wheel where the rotor mounts).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lower 48 in general. Otherwise Central Mitten.
The 550 vision uses the standard 650 brake backer plate, and shoes. You will need to make sure you get that with the wheel, as the 750 uses a bigger rear brake. Otherwise i see no real issues with swaping the rear wheels.

The Front uses the same Brake rotor, caliper, and axle shaft, and has the removable cover to run dual disc.

I would say that it would work!

Thanks MiGoast! The only other issue I'm worried about is the front being too wide...narrow is easy. Thanks again, I'll be posting pictures tomorrow in another thread of my project bike.

    (p.S. - I already bought the wheels, they're in the mail :)

ok...widths are correct and have the correct drum brake size and new pads (smaller sucks but for the sake of aesthetics...)

new prob...this wheel was on a reverse mount fork, not in front like the maxim or parallel like the secas/turbos. This wheel came on the turbo but in 19" with a slightly different rotor.

question is...is the turbo rotor diameter the same size as the maxim? (i know the mounts are completely different from the maxim to the turbo but I'm about an 1" over in diameter on the xz550 rotor)

I have all 3 bikes, but can't measure immediately.

Do you want to buy my Turbo rotors?? Only 2,400 miles of wear.

Time to ride...i may want to buy them but i need to know the diameter when you get a chance, and i may need to buy a turbo/seca front end now because of the forward axle mount on the maxim opposed to the straight axle mount on the turbo.
