    Hello ,
    Can someone tell me the best avenue to take to rekey my son's motorcycle? He lost his keys and needs a replacement. He ordered blanks & has them now.
    PLZ ADVISE!!!!

    Modern bikes have a computer chip in the key.
    Go see your nearest Yamaha dealer.

    Edit - actually that might not be true. My most recent Yamaha was a 2006 and I recall there was a special key that came with the owner's manual. The dealer told me something about that key but I can't recall. I believe it had a chip but the one I used all the time I don't think it did.

    Key code is typically etched on the back of the switch. With that number, a key can be made.
