Wondering if anyone has had luck taking out the original control panel/speedo/tach, keeping the computer still functional. Ideally I'd like to replace all of the main lights (blinkers, warning light, neutral indicator, high-beam indicator) with LEDs and take out the rest (entire "check" system, speedo, tach, etc.). Is this even possible?

One member relocated it under the seat by setting it into the airbox cover and making a longer harness. Another made a nice aluminum gauge bracket that used the systems monitor as the centerpiece, flanked by traditional round gauges.

In short, yes. What you want to do can and has been done.
