Anyoine have any comment about using this in your motorcycle and how long you would be willing to go between oil changes?? My butt would wear out before this oil>

Unfortunately it isn't miracle 500K oil. It's just their guarantee (with an asterisk!!) that if you use this oil in your diesel motor while following the oil change interval as prescribed by the manufacturer, AND have kept all the maintenance documentation of that for the life of the truck, then there are some limited warranties available.

As far as full synthetic in these old Yamahas? I have no idea. o_O

I have wanted to try the T6 for a while just to see what happens. I have a starter clutch that is on the sketchy side, so if the synthetic base oil was going to cause a problem, I would notice pretty quickly.

I'd still change it every 2000 miles anyway, because the gearbox will kill it stone dead.

The filter would need to be changed regardless. Hard to do without draining the oil first.

As far as the "500,000 mile guarantee" is concerned, it is not saying a single oil change will last 500,000 miles.

It's something about some small list of components of a heavy duty diesel engine are guaranteed for 500,000 miles when you use T6 and follow the OEM's maintenance schedule.

    Just change the dang oil.

Interesting. I like synthetic, but I've been using regular Rotella in my XJ and plan to continue. Synthetic goes in my Hondas.

I run T6 in my Bandit 1250S and it loves it. I still do the normal oil and filter change. But the bike really does seem to shift much better and just sounds good. I run T4 on my other bikes across the board.

This is my take on it too.

It’s a bonus if the oil can stand up to high mileage, but personally I still change both the oil & filter at conservative intervals.

For my Toyotas I love the Mobil 1 EP* (extended protection) paired with a fram ultra synthetic filter. Both rated for 20k miles but I still change both at 10k miles or less. I just recently upped the interval from 5k miles :) . I know some would say this is a waste. I think it’s cheap insurance.

    * Mobil 1 EP and Mobil 1 EP “high mileage” aren’t the same. I feel the Mobil 1 EP is superior regardless of total engine mileage.

As the saying goes: "Oil is cheap, engines are expensive".

@chris123 - I also run the Mobil1 EP in the Toyotas that take 0W-20. It is not available in a 0W-16 for the wife's Corolla Hybrid yet, so that gets plain old Mobil1.

I have ordered a bottle of T6 to run a little experiment in the XJ650J to see if it causes (or seems to cause) any unhappy clutch issues.
