I've done some searching and have come to a conclusion and would like you who know more than I to confirm my suspicions. I am having poor running issues with my bike. Symptoms are it fires right up and warms up fine with the choke on but as soon as I release the choke and try to accelerate from idle it starts sputtering and missing but if I am lucky enough to get it above 2500-3000 rpm it seems to smooth out. From what I have found through searching the forum I am leaning towards Pilot Jets! Am I on the right track? TIA, FEM, Indy.

    Quite possibly.

You might try it with just a little choke to confirm that you are lean. If so you can try opening the mixture screws up, but you're probably going to have to clean the carbs.

I had this thing running sweet two years ago then came a long non-use period. I treated the fuel and drained the bowls in hopes of avoiding this problem but I'm sure you're right. Damn I hate pulling those carbs. Is there an easier way or the typical fight the carb/intake boots into the intake partially to pull and reinstall the carbs?

I pull the boots completely out. Getting pretty good at getting them in and out. Do your carbs right the first time or you'll get good at remove/install too  .

Sorry Diver, Fuel stabilizer only works about 10 or so months. You would need to run the machine with fresh fuel every season to flush the system and then re-introduce the sabilizer all over again.
Time to pull the carbs and clean them.

Yeah this is the first time I didn't have an opportunity to ride each year. I hate it when life gets in the way!! Of course with gas tickling $4/gallon I'll definitely be getting more seat time! Hmmm, let's see superduty gets 19 highway, vette gets 24 highway, Seca gets 44 highway, man I gotta get this thing running!!!
