Rubber blocks between engine fins?

    I noticed little rubber blocks between the fins right by the spark plugs the other day. Just wondering what their purpose is :) i'd guess to stop nasty fin ringing?

    The theory is the harmonic generated by the cooling fins cause riding fatigue.
    The dampers are supposed to dull the vibrations.

    I think it works.
    I added about another half-dozen a side and the engine don't tingle.

    I'd love to get some more to wedge into my engine .... sometimes the buzzing gets frustrating after you've been aboard for a while!

    I"ll have to keep an ear open for the ring when i get riding. Those rubber stoppers i used to make the sync tool would work perfect, after being cut down to size.
