Been fight this issue for some time. My bike runs great when it wants to some days I can ride all day and other maybe 5 minutes then it shuts down like its out of gas wait for about 30 minutes and it fires right back up as if it was cold. Looking for any suggestions on what it may be carbs, coils plugs?

Could be that the gas caps not venting properly causing fuel not to flow. Next time it happens open the gas cap and see if the issue is resolved.

Check your fuel line make sure it is not pinched..ie it may flow just enough fuel to fill fuel bowls after sitting but not enough under load.. Ask me how I know this:oops: went for a ride get 3 miles from home bike dies...been adjusting carbs checking everything , get it started after sitting for 10 minutes barely make it to home and dies again. In my haste lift tank up and my fuel line is bent up under tank.. Straighten line up and runs with no issue...;)

    welcome on your first post
first tell us what bike and what you have done to the bike.

have you tried turning petcock to prime to see if it will start after 10 seconds?
how to rebuild gas cap link if you need it
    Your Gas Cap and You

make sure there is no air in your fuel line are you using a filter?

could also be ignition related have you omhed out the ignition system yet?
you can test them when bike stops running at side of road to see if it is a heat related issue
spark plug caps could be loose bad resistor in cap ,failing pickups ect
test for a base line and record it

could also be the vacuum hose failing you can change that if your problem continues after cleaning gas cap
you should do both anyways if you do not know when it was done last.

4 mm VACUUM HOSE not fuel line

Your Carbs NEED to go CLUNK!!!

Hey rwoods, if you haven't performed a carb clean/overhaul, or a valve shim adjustment, then that's your first answer. Once those items are in good working order, then the problem diagnosis is a bit easier for others on here.
