Anyone used rust reformer on headers? I got creamic header paint but they are quite rusty. Header paint is rated for high temps, rust reformer is not rated for anything except reforming rust as far as I can tell. Im wraping the headers but need to deal with the rust first. :?:

Should I go ahead and spray on rust reformer then header paint or just use reformer or just use header paint?

just use the paint! from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE all the reformer will do is make a nasty mess when it burns off. Been there done that. What I DID get to work:
VHT 2000 degree ceramic ( another brand flaked off on me) grinder with a wire brush then sand well, after you sand.... sand some more. then follow the cans directions ( yes a little heavier and a little closer in recoat time) let it cure good then bake or run them puppies, bad rust will mildly bleed through.... yep, sand and repeat. bleed will appear in a day or two max out after a week. I recoated with them on the bike (do a GOOD masking and covering job. cant remember the flake off brand but VHT works

I have the rustoleum high temp ceramic header paint. I looked at the rust converter and it said for temps under 90* or something like that. I'm just going to do like you suggested and use the paint.
