Okay, finally got a hold of some Seafoam. I'm hoping running it through the crankcase will help with my shifting/clutch issues (or at least eliminate that variable), and some through the carb will help the idle and smooth it out all around.

So my questions: how much to add to the crankcase? Should I drain a little oil first? Will it be overfull if I just dump in some Seafoam?

For the fuel system... the recommended way is with about a gallon of gas plus some Seafoam. I can search the forums for what that amount is. I'm also wondering if anybody has attempted to throw some directly into the air intake, after the filter. I remember using some combustion chamber cleaner on my car, and the recommended way was to pour it into the throttle body until it starts sputtering, then let it sit for an hour or two before restarting. What do you guys think?

I think before I tried that ... I'd have the Fire Department send-over an Engine Company ... and have a Firefighter standing right next to me with a charged Attack Line ... just to be safe.

    Or, ... not do it.

    I wouldn't.

personally I think the stuff is probably good to use once in a while in a good running engine. But its not a cureall for problems.

I took some seafoam, put it in a 60 cc syringe and pumped it right into the fule line of my bike while it was running, it seemed to do the trick
