I bought the bike a few months ago and we pulled the seat off as part of the inspection and then fixed a couple of items but I haven't needed to pull it off again. Now the key will not turn to unlock the seat. I don't want to try to force it. Is there an easy way to get the seat off when locked so I can get to the lock mechanism to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Lee

Maybe the seat is jamming the mechanism. Have you tried sitting on the seat and having someone try to unlock it. Also, it is possible that the tumblers in the lock are frozen. Might try some WD-40.

Will it turn the other way (helmet lock)? If so the seat is jammed as tabaka45 suggested. If I remember right it's possible to push the thing on in a way that buggers the latch.

Try sitting on it, banging it with your fist etc. as you try the key.

If the key doesn't turn the other way you've got a problem with the lock or key. Did you try your other key?

I got the lock to work finally. It took some lube and there is a burr that seems to be catchingin a certain position. The live helped and I have to push the key down to avoid the burr.
