    Hey; I'm new to the xj thing so bear with me. I need to replace one of the seat rails on my '82 XJ750. Will one from an '82 XJ1100 fit? They look similar in size but i'd like to know for sure. Also, I need new carb diaphragms, but can only find ones listed for the 1100, are they the same size for the 750 or do I keep looking. Any help would be appreciated.

    Sorry, but keep looking. I have both a 750 and a 1100 Maxim from 82 and know for a fact that the rails are different sizes. The ones from the 1100 are much bigger, as is most else about the bike. They do pop up occasionally on E-Bay.

    The 1100 carbs are Mikunis, and the 750s are Hitachis, so no good there either. Welcome anyway. Wish I had better news. Good hunting, Mike(y).

    I have some seat rails for a 750 Maxim. If you want I'll sell them for 20. plus shipping. They need a polish and clear coat for sure but should come back with no problems.
    I saw some new diaphrams some place on the web. They were aftermarket ones for like 25 each. I'll try to find them again and let you know. PM me if you want the seat rails.

    Your carb diaphrams are the same as any XS1100, XJ and XS1100 share the same engine and card setup.
