seca 550 fork disassembly help needed

    disassembly of my forks.......2 things the oil lock piece on left side is stuck in the slider...should I remove it or is it ok the leave it in .......next is the fork spring was in upside down I think the Clymer book calls for the small diameter coil face down toward the axle but face upward?......standing by todd
