mounts are the same but the stock seat and side covers wont fit against the tank right. But if you are bobbing you are likely doing a custom seat/side covers anyway especially starting with the seca platform.

I worked out a trade (seca to maxim tank) and am planning on useing it on my bike. Fits fine with no mods. As maverickbr77 said, I wasn't worried about stock seat or side covers...

On the same lines, and to sort of hijack the thread, has anyone tried an XS750 tank on the Seca 750? The early ones had a nice cafe look to them.

If you are close, would be fun to meet up and see how each others tank looks on each others bike

Anyone have a pic of a seca tank on a maxim.

I assume the frames are the same so it basically just makes it look like a maxim? Would jump start my cafe project :)

    Here ya go:

Had to make custom side covers and the tank's PO removed the rear ears on the tank already.

i love it, did you use the original seat and seat pan for the rear section/current seat??

No. None of that was with the bike when I got it. The seat you see is a fiberglass one that I hand fabbed. The padding, in this pic, is wrapped in duct tape, just so I could get her on the road. I didn't have the money for the upholstery yet. Hey, when low on funds, improvise! Hehe!

what I meant is did you build it on the seat pan, if not then how did you affix it to the bike, I was hoping to retain the stock seat latches and just build a cafe seat into it

No. All that was there when I got it was frame. Had to perform a little bit of trickery. Fashioned a base to go between the frame and seat the same height as the frame's rear dip to "flatten" the lines. This and the seat got bolted to the frame as one piece.
