I am considering a vmax. Waiting for a shop to give it a once over for me.

Anyway I taught my brother (24) how to ride. He has a wife and a kid. He is wanting to get a bike so we can ride together and whatnot. Plus obviously he likes it. That's why we are all here right?

Any of you guys sold a bike to a family member or friend? He's very responsible (probably more than I am) and I'd rather him be on a safe bike he can trust than something shady.

I would, makes it easy to keep track of the bike too, in case you ever want to buy it back.

I have GIVEN a bike to two of my son-in-laws (soon to third son-in-law) but never sold one. :) I often wonder if I will be to blame if one of them get hurt or worse will riding. All of them were considering getting a motorcycle before I gave them one. At least now I know the bikes were in good repair before I gave it to them.

Nope, he's thinking on selling the Maxim-X, not the vmax.

One cannot take the responsibility of another. That's senseless. Only way that would work is if you FORCED him to ride against his will.

If he's able to pass a motorcycle training course, then he can do whatever he wants. Plus, if you're going to sell the bike anyway ( or at least thinking about it ), and he's going to buy one anyway ( or at least thinking about it ), then no issues.

I have taught my son to ride, and he's got a VS800 now, and riding it a lot. I stress the safety issues CONSTANTLY ( all them people in cars are trying to kill you ), so he's a pretty safe rider, and aware of the other dangers on the road.

    I was just checking!!!!

When one of my buddies got his VMAX, he had me hop on the back. Then he told me not to hang on to the grab bars, but to hang on to him tight.... he wasn't kidding.

It was crazy. Like oh my gosh be gentle. I never even got it into vboost. Its got full race exhaust and its tuned right no backfires or anything larger jets. I really wonder how much power its putting out. First gear i got out of as quick as possible. Not a wheelie guy. Thing is a monster.
