I am thinking of making a simple shim swapping site tonight so people can find shims and swap them (duh).

I am doing it for two reasons:
    1. I can (Web programming is my job so its easy enough)
    2. I need shims soon for my XJ750 in France.

The idea is just to list shims by Country, Region, Bike Brand, Bike Model, and Shim.

I don't think this is a forum post violation because I just want to help but let me know if it is. (Can put a XJ Bikes Logo on the site if that makes it better  )

It would be easy enough, just add what shims you have and someone emails you using a form on the site, so no exposed emails.

Sign up would just be a nickname, email address and password.

    What do you guys think?

The problem you are going to have is people usually need thinner shims, not thicker. So you'll have people contributing shims 270+ and drawing 260 and below. (the 265s get moved around in the same engine). Pretty soon you end up with a stock of thick shims no one needs.

Ah, I see your point. Well, I will get it up in a day or two and see how it runs.

Postage... How much do shims weigh? You can do International Air for a few euro up to 200g. But I think being hardened steel they get heavy pretty quick.
