Anyone know the best way (safe and cheap) to ship a sexy 81 xj650 back to Toronto? Aside from riding it.
I rode my steed out to Vancouver last fall. It took ten days and I was lucky with the October weather. I'll be heading back the first week of April.
It's not that I don't want to ride it back. It's that my wallet is empty. And my mother worries.

I'm confused... Your wallet is empty but you can pay for shipping vs. gas and food?

The ride out cost me over $2000. Gas/food/lodging, repairs (punctured tire, blown header) and entertainment.
I want to know if it would be cheaper to put my bike on a train and fly back.

Entertainment: Well spending $1500 on single moms (aka strippers) was not part of the budget was it now? LOL

Train's about your only option i guess eh...

My brother shipped a car from Halifax to Edmonton via Train for around 2K I think... Unless you're lucky enough to find a East-coaster driving home and has room in his pickup truck out in Alberta or something, although you'd still have to ride to Alberta... Good luck with the logistics.

You could put an ad on your local Kijiji to see if anyone has room on their truck heading East. Seems a lot of people are heading back, and the ad is free. Maybe you could work out a deal to help them load and ride back with them, just a thought.
