i'm contemplating changing the rear fender on my xj700 (and going with a solo seat) and i'm looking to see what others have done so far. if you could, include some information where you found your rear fender too.

    thanks! 8)

the po crashed the bike and fender was bent badly, so i bobbed it.
the rear of the seat i cut diamond plate to fit inside and painted it black as well...

Do a search on Kevinelevens bike. There's a sound clip on those pipes....kinda loud if you like that sound. I can't imagine that thing out on the interstate!!!

Mine's a 650, but I used the stock chrome section and moved it forward. I drilled/tapped holes in the frame to use the stock fender mounting holes. I then had a friend weld up the holes where the taillight mounted.

Looking at my 700 - it may require cutting the front part of the rear fender to accomplish this.

Well..winter's comin' and it looks like I'm going back to school (at the tender young age of 48 8O ) So my time to do anything other than study/work will be hard to come by... :(
You can see my progress here (don't want to hi-jack this thread :) )

It's the stock chrome section from the 650. Yes, running 4-1 Supertrapp.
It's for sale - there's more pics here
