I am new to this forum but have found it extremely helpful so far. The rubber washers that hold on the side covers or side panels on my bike are disintegrating. Does anyone know where to get replacements how how to substitute for them?

Those are still available from Yamaha dealers or our resident parts guru, Chacal (info @ xj4ever.com)

Here's a tip. Epoxy a chain from a lamp pull chain to the cover with a connector and attach the other to a screw on the bike. If the cover falls off it is not lost. These covers are hard to find.
