Hey guys, I was driving into work this morning, and all of a sudden, my signal lights wouldn't work properly. I switched on my left , and it would only blink once maybe twice before it would turn off. The same happened with the right. they worked fine for most of the ride in. When I finally parked my bike, I tried them again, same thing, but they will stay on if I hold the switch over. Any suggestions.
    Cheers Mac

Sounds like the canceller is starting to go. But that's a guess.

Flasher is load related...some corrosion could be adding to the resistance and messit it up..... I replaced mine with a generic electronic one....

So I did some research and apparently it's my cancelling unit. I tried to order one, but just found out, that Yamaha discountinued it, so I'm going to disconnect it. I know this is going to sound stupid, but does anyone know exactly where thats located on the 400? ZaGhost any idea! Any help would be appreciated.

If you replace the flasher with a standard two-prong flasher, you'll eliminate the cancel feature and all should be well again. I don't know about the the 400's, but my flasher is located under the gas tank below and forward of the ignition coils. It will have three prongs on it marked B, L, and C.

It's buried up under the frame under the gas ... same as the XJ's only theirs is easier to get at :)
