    Thanks for all the help with the caliper and brakes so far. Just pollished up these old pistons and the all looked pretty good except for this guy. Should I replace it. This break project is costing me a fortune, but I want to be safe.;

    Where do the seals ride in relation to those pits? If they're in the area swept by the seals, especially the main seal (as opposed to the "dust" seal) then you'll have to replace it.

    Well good news is that a guy from church owns a bike shop and has a few spare calipers in his shop and is coming over today and helping put all new ones on

    ah good Ol church fellas, nice. well, I have pits in mine, right where the main seal sits, and they still work. I bought the new ones for 55 bucks I think, but haven't needed them yet. you can see pics of mine in one of the topics I started a few months back. I know I should change them but I guess I'm leaving it for winter along w/ other random stuff
