So I bought a 82 xj650 maxim, was going thru the disassembling process and happened to break the front wheel axel bolt clamp on one of the forks. Not to big of a deal, just ordered another set off of ebay. Well when I got the set of front forks, I noticed that one was different than the one that came off the bike. With a little research, I found out that my bike is a 82 XJ650 maxim, and the forks I bought are for a 82 XJ650L maxim. Now as far as the rest of the bike is concerned, everything will be fine. As for the forks, the one thats different has a bracket with 3 bolt holes. The original did not. Im going to post pictures to try and make it more clear. What im needing to know is if i have to run a different wheel or brake system if i use these forks?

Yes, you are going to need a different brake caliper. The wheel and axle should be the same and mount up but the brake calipers are vastly different.

Nooo. You will need the whole system from a Seca, 2 callipers, discs, master cylinder, the lot. The single disc is bigger than the twin discs. Best look for another Maxim leg...
