Well guys, I can honestly say that this is the best online group I have ever been part of. Thank you so much for your kindness and patience.

I imagine that, like Woot, I won't be around as much. But, I will definitely be back occasionally.

What a great bike the X was. It just wasn't for me at this time. I really wanted to keep it as a second bike, but the spouse insisted that I sell this one before getting another one. Bummer!

Keep the rubber side down, and keep these awesome bikes running and looking good. I will definitely be buying another Maxim in the future!

    - Richard

Robert, that is strange. Do you have a sixth sense? You are not going to believe this, but my wife and I just decided to try to have a baby yesterday. We don't have any kids yet. WoW!

Sixth sense? Nonsense, I just confused your post with Soslow93! Oh, yeah I do know the future! I'm going to be in a home for Alzheimers patients just like my grandmother! Bloody memory is lousy is all, don't know why.

This is so cool... I was looking for an older sportbike, and this is what is looking like a leading candidate:

    A 94 FZR600!

It is a little beaten, but I think it would make a perfect leap from the Maxim X. I think the engine should be a little more advanced from the Maxim X, but similar in a lot of ways.

Keeping it in the Yamaha family. :D

I'd have to agree about the engine similarities, my 600 is very simple to work on, the carbs are a little bit of a pain but just keep the intake boots greased on that FZR. They have a bad habit of baking hard and only replacing them will let you get the carbs back on (run me $70 to replace them all). There are a few links I found helpful for the FZR, can't remember the link names but there is fellow that posted a page that really spent some time with his FZR and has quite a bit of good info to pass along. Google FZR600, he'll pop up for sure.
