I'm looking at a 2005 ford mustang GT with 25,000 miles, V8 and all the goodies, but it needs a new rear clip, i'm figuring that'll be a spendy job, probably one of those $1000-$1500 jobs, but i'm not sure. What does it mean when your car needs a new rear-clip?

Are you talking about the rear bumper or the whole back half of the car? I,m a collision repair tech for a living, usually when we talk about a "clip" that means replacing either the whole front or rear section af a car with a section fron another car. A repair like that is not cheap and has to be done by someone who knows what they are doing. A bumper cover replacement is more like a $600 $1200 job depending on the price of the cover. Do you have any pictures of the damage, that would help. I just don't want to see you get burned on something that needs more work or money put into it than it's worth.
