I am considering riding to the CTCC (Central Texas Carb Clinic) May 30-31.

I live in Minturn (between Vail and Avon).

    Anybody interested?

I've been in contact with Paul Nolan, host and have further details if you are.

    Thanks.
    Jim

Hello! I'm a new member here. Just joined 11/01/09 and got my XJ 650 10/30. I'm in Tucson AZ and I need some help getting this "81 back on the road. I also have a KZ 650 and a Ol" honda CB 350. Have owned and ridden a 70's XS 650 in my past. ( shoulda never let it go too). Motorcycles and air cooled VW's are my disease and I don't want a cure!

I've gone and come back. Sold that '81 Maxim. Never did get it running. It DID look a LOT better when I sold it. I'm back because now I have a '91 Seca II. Pretty clean bike. I might go naked next year or 2, but for now I just want to get it running well so I can take my XS down for overhaul.

I live in Mesa. Been riding all this winter. I've got a lot of to-do's on this bike. It's good to know that there's some other people around.

I'm thinking weekend rides 100 or so miles (round trip)?

Thought I'd resurrect this thread since the last reply was over three years ago.

I live in Riverside (SoCal) and am the "transitional" owner of an '81 XJ650 Maxim.

I say transitional because it's actually a gift I bought for my son but I'm making sure it's up to snuff before I hand it off to him.

So for the time being I'm putting miles on it and diagnosing problems that I find along the way and hopefully repairing them. So I imagine I'll be picking other people's brains on this website to try and get that accomplished.

I've already been in contact with hog fiddles and he's been a lot of help to me. Thanks!
