    Hello.

I am starting to de-winterize my bike and I want to put some new spark plugs in. I know that the owners manual and ngk.com call out BP7ES but for some reason the previous owner had in BR8EG. I am wondering why they would put this type in. Should I leave this type in or switch back to what the owners manual says?

    Thanks.

Because somebody was out of the correct plugs so they put in whatever was available. Or somebody looked it up wrong.

The Yamaha engineers knew what they were doing. Put in the BP7ES.
