a few weeks back my speedo stopped ticking. plugged the cable into the speedo and spun it with a drill and it spins. speedo is fine. cable is fine. the gear was hickuping and glichy so i ordered a new one. I installed the new gear and holy smokes was that a pain in the butt!!! you need to fit the little tabs into the exact spot otherwise it don't work. and you need to put it all back together to find out if its right. either way, after doing this 5 or 6 times, I finally got it right. a week and 300 miles later, it stopped ticking again. Im sure its the same issue because the line doesnt spin when i disconnect it from the speedometer. does anyone have any experience with this? do you know of any tricks to getting it right? PS: is it possible that the forks arent squeezed together enough so the gear seperates just enough to stop contacting?? if so, what do I do?!?!? :) thanks!
