    anybody here ride without a speedometer or know where a small one can be found for cheap I want to rip mine off but Im sure i will need to pass inspection when i get to oregon.

    When I bobbed out my Seca, I got rid of that nasty looking stock depth-finder looking big square speedo/tach setup and went with a small single speedo off of an old honda 350 and it works better than the original speedo (more accurate) and looks a hell of alot better.
    I made the mounting bracket out of aluminum and used LEDs for the indicator lights. PD

    Painter D does that speedo run off the original yamaha speedo drive?

    Yes the Yamaha cable screws right into the Honda speedo housing with no problem. It's actually more acurate than the stock speedo infact.
    Just about any metric speedo off older bikes will work with a cable operated bike. Most are the same gear ratio. I would imagine the diameter of the front wheel does make some difference in acuracy.
