I need to clean and oil my speedo cable (it's making a terrible sound). Do I have to remove the front wheel to get the cable disconnected at the wheel?

    Thanks

On my 700 there is a knurled knob you can loosen with a pair of pliers. Beware that the inner cable will slide out, as it isn´t held with anything at the top (speedo) end. Also, on mine there´s a tiny washer behind the inner cable´s "stopper ring" at the front wheel end (you don´t wanna lose that...).

Pics of stopper ring, washer and cable ends (notice there´s a small difference in the "recess" of the metal ends..) here: http://hjem.get2net.dk/xjmaximdk/vedlrep.htm#kab
