Anyone done this mod? looks awesome enuff and ease of change sounds real swell but a question popped into my mind. What if any significant DANGER is there with debris causing damage to the thin wall of an oil filter? seein as how its right behind the front whell this kinda popped into the 2 brains cells i got left thinkin about it.
Feedback on pro's and cons alike would be appreciated.

I think you guys have an unfounded concern. To this day, motorcycle designers are putting filters in that exact spot or very close to it. Many filters also hang off the bottom. I just bought a 2002 FZ1 and the filter is in the same spot but just a little off center.

Besides that, the canisters are made so that they bend instead of puncture if they are struck by an object. I'm not saying you can't puncture them, but the run of the mill object is going to make a small dent and bounce off.

If placing components in that area was truly a problem, none of the manufacturers would put radiators there either. And most of them, I think like 95% or more, do in fact do just that.

Our very own Chacal sells them. I am sure he'll post the part number shortly.

Chacal has a parts forum where he lists his catalog. There are several part numbers; the difference between them is which filter you get with it. He has Purolator, K&N, and two or three others.
