    just got my carbs rebuilt with stage 3 jet kit it runs great but when i lay into it at like 7k it sounds like its miss firing and ones rode foe a good 3 miles it cuts off and wont start back for about 30 min what could cause this

    have the valve shims been checked, synched correctly (with yics blocked), colortuned, what exhaust/intake are you running? What bike do you have?

    More details on "won't start".
    Does the engine turn when starting or not?
    Which XJ do you have?
    With a stage 3 je kit I'll asume you are running pod filters.

    tight valves could cause that, depending on actual symptom.

    sorry its a 82 seca 750. it has stock header no mufflers and i don't have air filter on it I'm in proses of making dual ram air intake for it
    and it turns over but just wont crank but after about 30 minutes it fires right up
