    I watch this guy sometimes he posted that first come can have a 1100 maxim with a seized engine for free. Might be good for parts if you are close to PA.
    Don't know how to post the YouTube video but its titled "We finally figured what to do with our fleet of Honda Rebels" the Maxim is at the 2 min mark. The place is Srk cycle

    They sell that bike later for $1500-$1600 to some guy in NY. They have one called "return of the $1500 test ride" it's a 750 Maxim and seeing that video made me go out and find my XJ. If I lived closer I'd go get the 1100 to keep for parts and look for one in working order, I've got the XJ bug you can't have just one.

    That’s the thing... after seeing that video I posted above with them not knowing how to get to the XJ intake, it leads me to believe the 1100 that they are “giving away” is not is as bad of shape as they think...

    They are not that mechanically inclined. It seem they know a guy at another shop that does most of the work on the older bikes. Anything harder than jumping a battery or spraying gas in the carbs if they can take off the pod filters goes to him.

    It seems that way. Not a lot of tech content there... though I still find their videos interesting... but then again, anything motorcycle related is interesting to me.
