Was here a while ago with my XJ600 (pre-diversion) which with your help I managed to get running very sweetly and to sell for £200 less than the GPz1100 that I now own. There was so much good advice on here that I thought I'd come back and try with a problem that's got me stumped.

After a lay up of about 8 months over the winter and then failing to get the bike going in February, I've just got back to my GPz1100 (1995). Put new battery and HT leads on and she fired up lovely but...

...when I try and pull away I can only make it move with sliding the clutch. As soon as I let the clutch out it stalls.
Brakes are not seized, which was my first thought.

    Any ideas ?

    Isn't google marvellous!

    Stick side-stand switch.
I assumed it caused cut-out when put into first (as with the XJ)...but no!
You can put the bike in gear with the side-stand down, but if you release the clutch then a clutch sensor causes the stall. How annoying!

3 squirts of WD40 and the world is put to rights!

Thanks anyway. Nice to be back, however briefly.
