sounds to me like you have some crossed wires. or some wires touching inside where the 2 switches are. I've got a 650 just assuming they are the same. is your connector plugged in backwards. starter switch should have power when the key is on and I only have power going out when the button is pressed. not sure of the wire color but I could look at mine. does Killswitch should also have power coming in and I only have power going out to the ignition when the kill switch is in the on position. I would pull it apart at the handlebars and check it there. you will easily be able to see which wires go to which switch

I noticed in other posts you said something about simplifying wiring, this may help if you havn't seen it already

somethings connected wrong somewhere, or shorting out. Have you got a manual yet, coz they are very helpful with sorting problems. ps. electrickery is not top of my list but it is logical when you follow it from a to b.

I have an 82 seca 750. It has a new battery and the carbs are in gorgeous condition. All the wiring seems right, but when I turn the bike on, the warning light never turns off, and when I press the start button absolutely nothing happens. What could be causing this and how do I go about fixing it?
