I am going to be splitting the crankcase on my 1982 Seca 650 in a couple of weeks, and was wondering if it it is possible to "clean" the starter clutch.

It occasionally sticks when starting. Is caused by the rollers inside not being able to slide correctly, or by the springs being to weak? Can you disassemble the starter clutch to clean out any sludge that might have accumulated inside.

Should I order a new nd just replace it?

    Thanks

    Ken
