Starter Motor Brush Replacements

    Hi All,
    I have been having problems starting my '82 XJ550 Seca. After troubleshooting and diagnosing it turns out the brushes on the starter motor are warn out and not making contact. In fact one of the brushes was so warn you can actually see light through between the brush and the motor.

    I found this repair kit on ebay. Has anyone had any experience with this or similar kits?

    I also went to my local Yamaha dealer and for OEM I am looking at about $150 or $65 after market (Canadian)

    Any thoughts / comments?

    its got the pre attached brushes, all the seals and bushings 18$/23 cad good deal
    check amazon out too they sell the same kit
