starter relay

    hey guys i have a 82 yamaha 650 and was wondering if i could replace starter relay with something different Mine went bad bought new one and it didnt last a month

    If the bike "ate" a new solenoid that quickly there might be something else going on; perhaps a starter issue.

    If your regulator is bad, you can burn out a stator. Also, if you too many accessories or higher power lights you can burn it up, too. Of course, if you bought a used stator, you could have bought one that was just about ready to kick it anyway....in which case, you got a bad one to start with.

    ...but the question he ASKED was, can he replace it with something different...
    It's always great to look at the bigger (WHY did it break.) instead of just throwing parts at it, but sometimes we lose sight of the original question.

    i have one from some triumph on mine now, if it looks like it'll fit it'll work.
    12volt, 2 studs, 2 wires is all you need
