i took my air box out and put pods in. The bike was running fine until I did this. Now won't start. It wants to start but then dies down and a noise is coming from the starter solenoid. The battery is new and the solenoid is too. Idk if I pulled a wire somewhere... Idk what's going on

Is the engine turning over or isn't it? Which model is it?

Your first statement seems to indicate exactly what is wrong. I suggest putting the stock air box back. If you absolutely must keep the pods, you will need to make other adjustments, just as changing jet sizes, for it to run decently.

You just went down a slippery slope...tuning , changing jets , flat spots etc if you want to go this route at the very least fabricate some type of bracket to support carbs , do NOT rely on the rubber boots to support the weight of the carbs over time it can cause cracks in boots...since you pulled this out your fuse box was mounted in top check wiring , are you still running original fuse block or have you up graded to blade type fuses?

+1 on puttung the airbox back.

Are you sure the noise you're hearing is from the starter solenoid (BTW that's not why the bike wants to die right away).

Way to lean to run would be my guess. Open the pilot screws a good bit and see if you can at least get it to stay running. If so, and you are determined to use pods you'll have to pull the carbs and start experimenting with re-jetting. Ain't a good idea in my opinion, but at least there are some smart guys on this site that can get you started in the right direction. If the bike was intended to run on pods the Japanese engineers at Yamaha would have put them on.
