Anyone have a source for a video on changing out steering head bearings? Kinda bummed. Got my garage find up and running and looking like a million bucks and can’t safety it to plate it cuz there’s a definite indent at Center. Sat for 15 years in the same position. Anyway don’t mind another challenge just be nice to have something decent to refer to. The few vids I’ve seen are rather hackish.

It all depends if you keep the ball bearings new ones with a cost of grease as long as the race is not pitted or grooved it is easy . If you upgrade to tapered bearings the hardest part is knocking out the old race and removing from the head stock . A heat gun is a great assist heat the frame head up you will need a long drift and a BFH ( big @#$%&*! Hammer) . Freeze the new races for a few hours and again heat tube , the race should go in I used two thick washers and a long bolt and nut , I tightened down and drew them down , tapped with a hammer as I went till they seated in place . Getting the race off the yoke was a little bit of fun but got them out . Cheers

Thanks for the input. Definitely notched at center. Bike had sat in the same position about 15 years. Have a new set of All Balls enroute.
