First make sure thr routing is good, second check the cable at both ends where it goes into the selves. If its frayed you have to replace it. If not take the throttle handle end and disconnect it. Take a business card or heavy piece of paper and made a funnel shape out of it with the small end about 1/2 inch below the Ferrel. Break out the duct tape and seal the end of the funnel to the cable. I use MMO and fill the funnel up and let it sit. After the level drops try and move the cable back and forth by hand. Keep this up untill its well lubed and you are good to go as far as the cable itself is concerned

You don't have to settle for a Used Throttle Cable or buy a high-priced New Cable in a plastic bag with a Yamaha Sticker and a Bar Code on it.

Just take the whole Cable you got ... right off the Bike.
Drive over to a Bicycle Shop and pick-up what you need to make a New one.
The Bike Shop will have Bulk Cable Sheath, Chrome Sheath Ends, Bulk Cable and a wide variety of Cable End Bullets and Stops for matching what you got or making it better!

Short money for a New Throttle Cable.
    Bring 10-Bucks.
    Get change.

If you can't do the soldering it will take to mount the two Barrel Ends, ... bring the OLD Cable with you and have one of the Bike Guys put them on.
