It seems like my turn signal switch could use a little lubrication. Is that something anybody has done?

Just feels a little sticky, especially when cancelling.

Just did this recently on my 1980 XJ650. Opened up the housing and brushed things clean, then gave it a little shot with some lubricant and worked the switch around to get it all worked in there... switch works like a charm now.

take that can of WD40 and shoot it with your BB gun
it never was a lubricator and next year it turns into a insulator
    i don't like WD40 :)

I got in there and cleaned it out and lubed it up.

It seems better but it still seems like it takes too much pressure to cancel the turn signal. I kind of understand why now that I have seen the internal workings of the turn signal switch - it is just kind of mechanically awkward for that pushing motion to move that internal slider switch back to center.

Has anyone ever replaced the internal slider switch thing? Does that help? Looks like you can get one at xj4ever for $35.

for 550 and 650 you push the switch in to the body of control, for 750 you push switch down to cancell signals

electronig contact cleaner works well to clean may need a lottle eraser action then spray with a silicon
