Symptoms prior to shop valve adjustment/tune: Bike idles ok for a few minutes when cold and choked. After bike is hot (maybe 2 miles down the road) won't idle without blipping throttle constantly. After bike is stinking hot it starts dropping cylinders and shuts off. If (and I mean if) I can accelerate, albeit sluggishly, up to 2500 RPMs the bike will run perfectly until I come to the next stop.

Symptoms AFTER shop valve adjustment/tune ($300): Bike idles well when cold. Bike idles ok when warm with only some 'blipping' needed and idle hangs a bit. When bike is stinking hot it drops cylinders and I limp all the way home.

Is it electrical?! Whey does this only happen when the bike is hot?
This is killing me (figuratively) and if I don't figure it out, literally maybe.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

What else did you get for $300 ?? A running sync? Did they play with your Pilot screws?

Can you do a (proper) compression test and post #'s and,
post a pic of your plugs on brown paper (for finer contrast) here.
get your bike "stinkin hot" and missing, and use a timing light to confirm that all 4 plugs are firing. This would verify the ignition isn't the problem.

Do all the above and you will get good answers
I bet they leaned you out too much.

Another thing to check is for vacuum leaks at the intake manifolds and throttle shaft seals (8 of them) Use an unlit propane torch. listen for a change in idle.

I had this same issue on an xs750 I worked on at a shop in CA. I believe it turned out to be the tci. It was fine until it got really warm, then just shut down....

My mechanic did a good job with the valves and the bike is synched and tuned pretty well it seems...except when hot. I'm sure the bike is misfiring on at least 2 cylinders. I'm starting to think TCI too. These can't be tested though right? I guess I should find one to swap out for a while...that ought to be cheap... (he wrote sarcastically).

oh ya...forgot about compression. Mechanic said one cylinder was a little low but nothing to hateful. I did replace the throttle shaft seals this winter and I really hope that isn't the problem. Bike doesn't seem to react to ether.

    Thanks.

my issues are also similar, It runs great but will cut out randomly, its an intermittent problem and I tried everything else. I'm led to believe its the TCI

Had the same problem, random "cut out" cruising at various speeds... Definitely not confidence inspiring. An electronics guy at work looked at the TCI and it was full of cold solder joints. After his work (20 minutes???) and a case of beer I haven't had a stall since.
