I am rebuilding some carburetors for a 82 XJ650 and the number 2 bowl won't come off. I've tried Kroil, carb cleaner, tapping with a rubber hammer and it's still won't come off. Would soaking it in a carb cleaner like Gunk damage the floats? The floats on the other carbs don't look like metal, more like a black plastic. Thanks for any input here.

The 4 screws that hold the bowl on are stuck? Or the drain screw?

Are you using a proper JIS screwdriver? If not, that is the first requirement.
