stupid question

    like it says this may be stupid, i was told that the maxim i have is a 550 but when i look at it the thing has markings and pieces that say 650. now how do i find out for sure what it is so i dont get parts for the wrong bike?

    550=chain drive 650/750=shaft drive. I believe the 900 is chain drive but not sure, cruzerjd

    No stupid questions here.

    Post up the first six numbers of your VIN number and engine number.

    These will identify the model

    Also have a look on the barrels at the bottom of the engine. They will be stamped with the cc size of the engine.
