I'm getting a lot of lateral movement in my swing arm... doesn't feel so good when you're leaning hard 8O

    I need to replace those.

Anyone know where to get them? Any tutorials on here? Seems like it might be a pita.

You may not need new bearings( yes there are tapered roller bearings in there) pop the Chrome covers off and you will see on a large lock nut on the brake pedal side. Loosen the lock nut and use a 5mm Allen wrench and turn it just enough till it stops. Your play should be gone. BTW it's not a pita at all, just make sure that the gap is equal on both sides as both pivot pins are threaded. The torque settings for the lock nut are 72 ft lbs. and 43-52 in lbs. for the adjuster.

There's also a very good possibility that the bearings are trashed from the bike having been dropped a couple of times or rusted out. If that's the case, yes they can be replaced. I have a tutorial for that "on my list" but there are a few more pressing projects ahead of it. It's not difficult; it is a PITA.

The PITA part may be the removal of the outer races, but I think a nicely designed pry bar will do the job. Well now that I think about it, you would have to remove the swing arm... yep, it's a PITA.
